This is a new role at Wild Alaskan; as the first to inhabit it, you will lay the groundwork for effectively integrating data-driven decision making across the company and building out the analytic capacity each functional area needs as we continue to grow. Reporting to the VP of Finance and Business Operations, you’ll be part of a small but mighty team that is collaborative, fast-paced, challenging, and fun.

• Work closely with the leadership team to develop a comprehensive data strategy and road map that helps us sustainably grow our business
• Build, lead and manage continuous improvement frameworks and processes for all things data
• Recognize when teams need exposure to new types of data to help inform decision making and have an impact on the business
• Work across all business functions to gather requirements, groom data requests, evolve our data pipeline and produce reporting and dashboards to inform decision making
• Collaborate closely with digital product and engineering on the evolution of our products and the implications on how the greater team visualizes and interprets data
• Lead the evolution of data literacy and empowerment across all teams to help teammates help themselves
• Track, prioritize and report on all data and analytic initiatives
• Tame complexity and ensure data from all sources remains clean and consistent
• Bring an agile mindset and push to continuously improve the quality of data
• Collaborate with existing external partners to understand how to best architect and implement data pipelines for new initiatives
• Stay up to date with new data engineering and management methodologies and frameworks
• Ensure the data experience at Wild Alaskan is contextual and delightful across all teams
• Other special projects and duties as assigned

Requirements

• Deep expertise in data and analytics, including successful multi-year track record of building, coaching and leading data teams
• Expert in SQL, and fluent in BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, etc.
• Background in ETL design and data warehousing
• Experience using various experimentation platforms and multivariate attribution modeling techniques
• Demonstrated experienced in juggling multiple priorities in a fast moving organization
• Strength in analytical and critical thinking
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• Collaborative and a champion of data openness
• A willing teacher, and a strong desire to continuously learn

Nice to Haves

• Experience in a company that has scaled through multiple growth stages
• Software engineering and/or product management experience
• Exposure to or background in finance, digital marketing and/or supply chain
• Past employment in food and/or eCommerce
