One of my husband Arron (our founder + CEO)’s favorite words is optionality.
So, it’s in the spirit and exploratory thrill of optionality that I’m writing with an exciting announcement (which you may have already read about). Wild Alaskan Company now offers custom boxes for all members! Giving members the ability to build a box full of their favorites, and/or try something new as a part of their monthly box, is the next step in our mission to accelerate humanity’s transition to sustainable food systems.
When my husband Arron founded Wild Alaskan Company, we started by offering our members a Wild Salmon Box — salmon, being the signature Alaskan harvest and the embodiment of our ethos, Live Wild. But we quickly realized that once members had a taste of the sustainable, maritime bounty and nutrients from Alaska, they wanted more. So, we added whitefish species, different iterations of salmon (like cold and hot smoked), and a variety of other offerings. By expanding the offering for members, we were also able to diversify the demand across fisheries, seasons and wild Alaskan ecosystems, allowing us to stay true to our mission.
Now, we’re excited to allow more variety and more choice to Wild Alaskan Company members with a custom box, offered as a fourth box option beside our standard curated boxes: Wild Salmon, Wild Whitefish, and Wild Combo boxes.
Maybe you’re currently obsessed with springtime chowder and all you want is mild whitefish for the foreseeable future. Or you’re grooving on a summer salmon taco loop, solely keen on sockeye and coho. Or say you’re planning a summer feast, a fish n’ chips extravaganza in June — you can create a custom box heavy on Pacific Cod for your upcoming June order, then switch back to your regularly scheduled and curated box for July.
You can change things up in every order if you’d like and try something new — or double up on your favorites. The point is for your box to be as thrilling with novelty as you want — or as reliable with predictability. The choice is yours!.
And don’t worry, if you love your current box you can keep it.
